Business/entrepreneur related categories

If you are a non-EEA national and you want to start a business or make an investment in the UK, you may be eligible apply under one of the business/entrepreneur related categories.

Visalogic manages all applications within this field, including tier 1 entrepreneur visas, sole representative applications, tier 1 investor visas and innovator visas.

Leave to remain

Leave to remain is essentially your permission to stay in the UK. If you are a non-EEA national who is already legally in the UK you may be eligible to apply to extend or change your current immigration status by applying for further leave to remain.

Medical professionals - nurses, doctors & dentists

If you are a non-EEA national and you are a student nurse, postgraduate doctor, or post graduate dentist, you may apply to enter the UK for a limited period of study or training.

Specific profession categories

If you are a non-EEA national and you are an entertainer, sportsperson, self-employed writer, composer or artist, you may be eligible to apply to enter the UK on the basis of your achievement in your specific profession.

Youth Mobility Scheme (YMS)

If you are a commonwealth citizen aged between 18 and 31 you can apply to enter the UK under the Youth Mobility Scheme. The Youth Mobility Scheme allows you to stay in the UK for a two year period, during which you are entitled to undertake employment for as part of your stay. Your dependants can also apply under this category provided that they satisfy the UK immigration requirements.

Students

If you are a non-EEA foreign national you may apply to enter the UK as a student for purpose of studying. There are a number of criteria that you must satisfy relating to the type of course that you intend to participate in and the duration of that course.

Non-EEA Family members of EEA & Swiss nationals

If you are a non-EEA family member of an EEA or Swiss national, you may be able to join your family or partner in the UK. If you are coming to the UK for a period of more than 6 months you will need to apply for an EEA family permit.

The following family members are eligible to apply for an EEA family permit:

  • The spouse of an EEA national;
  • A descendant (child or grandchild) of an EEA national or his/her spouse who is 21 years of age or is their dependant (this includes stepchildren or adopted children);
  • A dependant in the ascending line (i.e. parents or grandparents) of an EEA national or his/her spouse.
